Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka shankar is an British and American sitar player. She also plays music. She was the first woman of her generation to be a member of an award from the British House of Commons Staff. Anoushka Sitar Shankar was one of the Indian young sitar singer. She is the student of Ravi Shankar, and the daughter. She was a child who bounded back and forth from London to New Delhi. As a teenager, her first show at New Delhi took place. After moving to Encinitas, the state of California, in 1999 she earned a high-school certificate. The career of Anouskha as a recorder and performer is quite impressive, in spite of her age. She often joins her father during performances, something she's done for quite a few years. Her debut self-titled album Anourag in the year 1998. In 2002, she released her Grammy nominated album Live at Carnegie Hall. She has appeared at many important venues across the world. Anoushka Shankar's work isn't only limited to music. Bapi The love of my life is an illustrated biography she wrote in 2002. The book pays tribute to her father who died in the year 2000. Ravi Shankar. She has also acted in films in 2003 she played the role in the film Dance Like a Man where she plays the role of a teenage Bharat Natyam performer. Anoushka Shankar is currently a rising star and her career will continue to grow. Anoushka Shankar was born and raised in England and spent much of her early years in London and Delhi after which she moved to California where she attended high school. Anoushka started her music studies at age nine. After four years she performed her music debut with the sitar Delhi during her father's 75th birthday party. Anoushka had the opportunity to acquire a variety of valuable experiences by accompanying her dad during his worldwide tour. This included performing in Carnegie Hall and at Peter Gabriel's WOMAD festival, as well as performing alongside George Harrison. It is the House of Commons Shield was given to her from the British Parliament as the top Asian Arts musician. She is the only woman and is the smallest recipient of this award.
